sector.

special award was initiated by the Judging Panel to recognise Rebecca

Public Private Partnership in Innovation

 

2008
Winners- Mater Private Healthcare, - Mater PET/CT
Centre

 

This
category acknowledges the growing role played by the independent sector
in delivering healthcare services that work in tandem with the public
sector. The award will be presented to the project which the judges
believe to be the best example of public-private sector co-operation
and performance. Nominees should demonstrate clearly where projects
have positively impacted upon patient equality and customer care.

BEST HSE or Statutory Project

Winners- PCCC-HSE West, Heart Safe School's, Co
Galway

 

Demonstration of innovative thinking or process improvement, in a HSE
project  or a Statutory project, process or domain of control
that has produced new efficiencies and created enhancements in patient
care.

 

Close finalists were; PCCC-HSE West for Community Heart Failure Management
Programme.

 

 

 

BEST Completed Healthcare Facility (Design)

 

2008
Winners- Beacon Medical Group, -Beacon
Hospital

 


The healthcare design facility must be completed within the past 3
years and the award is given based on the following criterion; overall
working environment and ergonomics of the facility, performance
enhancements in standards of safety (for both patient and staff),
enhancements in patient care and patient service.

BEST Healthcare Technology Innovation

 

2008
Winners- Epic Solutions, -EpicCare Suite


This
award recognises and rewards a significant and cutting-edge advance in
independent healthcare provision - be it medical, financial, nursing or
organisational technological advance of patient safety and patient
welfare.  Nominees are also invited from new Irish Companies.

Healthcare Journalist of the Year

Winner- Fergal Bowers, -RTE

are welcome from employers and co-workers of journalists that wish to
honour and recognise their own colleague's; thought leadership,
impartiality, focus and dedication to patient interest and general
journalistic contribution to the sector over the years.

Award For Innovation in Advocacy

Winners- MRSA and Families Network

 


This
award recognises the successes of patient associations and special
advocacy groupings in furthering awareness of special interest issues
that are key to continuing improvement and performance enhancement in
the Irish Healthcare Sector. The winner will have demonstrated
sustained leadership in the delivery of their own stakeholders
objectives.
